Please help IG welcome its newest Global Health Fellow, Andrew Denman! Andrew is a first-year MPH student specializing in Global Health at Emory University. He completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University of Ohio, earning degrees in Microbiology and Public Health, with a minor in Global Health. During his time at Miami University, Andrew helped gather, clean, and analyze public health data to develop a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) focusing on mental health among five resettled refugee groups in Columbus, Ohio—namely, Afghan, Bhutanese/Nepali, Ethiopian/Eritrean, Congolese, and Somali populations. In this research, he collaborated with Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services to manage participant follow-up and shared his findings with peers and faculty. Andrew is interested in Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Complex Humanitarian Emergencies, and the application of Human-Centered Design in his future work. He is excited to learn from the IG team in Atlanta and field offices abroad.
Andrew will work with IG’s technical and instructional design teams to help expand the Integral Global Network of Innovation, Technology, and Education (IGNITE) Platform. Welcome, Andrew!
