Outbreak Investigation in Georgia

Enhancing Global Health Security in Uzbekistan

Implementing Partners:

The COVID-19 pandemic shed light on the importance of global health security (GHS) and outbreak investigation. Integral Global Health (IGH) and the Emory University Department of Emergency Medicine, in collaboration with the Georgian Emergency Medicine Physician Association (GEMPA) and the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) offered an in-person course to further educate healthcare professionals on the importance of detecting and responding to illness outbreaks of unknown etiology. The interactive small-group course aimed to instruct clinicians, public health professionals, and staff members of national emergency operations centers (EOCs).
