Overseeing Process Improvement in Uzbekistan

For the past two years, Integral Global Health has been conducting trainings in-country on process improvements (PI) measures with individuals from regional laboratories and supervisors from national public health agencies. The participants engage in a CDC-developed Process Improvement for Public Health Professionals workshop- the intent is to improve the process of accurate and timely diagnostics for Hepatitis C. The trainings were conducted by Dr. Brian Robie, a consultant for IGH. After the workshop, the participants are able to conduct practical PI projects at their worksites. Once projects are completed, the participants are able to present the outcomes to other teams and peers. The participants will utilize the lessons learned to continue to showcase the key benefits of PI that include: accuracy, turn-around time, customer satisfaction, team satisfaction, utilization of lessons learned by other teams, achievement of objectives, adherence to standards, resource utilization. The ultimate outcome to is to build in-country capacity among officials who can further disseminate the training to more local levels.
