In June 2021, IGH celebrated the opening ceremony of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s first Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Services for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being (SSEW). Members from CDC Regional and Uzbekistan offices, officials from the SSEW, and the Ambassador of the United States to Uzbekistan celebrated this accomplishment to build epidemiologic capacity. The EOC enhances the capability to prevent, detect, and respond to natural occurring outbreaks, international or accidental releases, and biological threats of international concern. IGH looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Government of Uzbekistan to enhance the ability to respond to major public health events.
