Integral Global (IG) staffed subject matter experts in emergency medicine and response to complex humanitarian emergencies at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Emergency Response and Recovery Branch’s training and capacity-building efforts. IG’s support consisted of emergency response protocol development and review, community-based surveillance consultations, strategic planning, and manuscript review. The experts also guided curriculum and assessment tool development, evaluation, and data collection methods. The SMEs also directly supported emergent initiatives, including developing content for education modules, liaising between ERRB and other government stakeholders to maximize the outcomes of collaborations, and advising on resource deployment options to ensure rapid and effective scaling of activities.
